Frequently Asked Questions
-
What if I don’t know if therapy is right for me?It's totally understandable to feel uncertain. That's why I offer a free consultation where we can discuss what you're going through and explore how therapy might help. We'll also go over any questions you have, so you can feel comfortable and informed before deciding what’s best for you.
-
Do you take insurance?I'm not currently accepting insurance, but I can provide a 'Superbill' after each session. A Superbill is a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. While I cannot guarantee reimbursement, many insurance providers will cover a portion of the session fees if you meet their criteria.
-
What can I expect during a session?Individual sessions usually last about 50-60 minutes, where we’ll focus on building trust and safety in our work together. My goal is to listen closely to your story, help you connect the dots, and guide you in calming your nervous system by tuning into your body. Oh, and we’ll replace any old lies with some solid truth along the way. More and more research shows that healing depends on the connection between therapist and client, so building that connection is my top priority. I’m here to help you feel heard, seen, and understood—and along the way we’ll probably laugh at least once. Or five times. Because sometimes laughter really is the best medicine.

What's the difference between Christian Therapy and Secular? In Christian therapy, we draw on the wisdom of biblical principles to guide the healing process while blending in evidence-based strategies that are supported by modern research. This approach recognizes the importance of faith in emotional well-being, allowing us to address your challenges with a holistic perspective. We’ll explore how concepts like forgiveness, grace, and hope, found in Scripture, can promote healing, while also using therapeutic techniques that are scientifically proven to support mental and emotional growth.
-
What other services do you offer? In addition to individual therapy, I offer a variety of services to support your healing journey. These include women’s processing groups, where you can connect and share in a supportive space, intensive therapy sessions for when you need more focused work in a shorter time, and equine therapy, where you can connect with horses to process emotions, build self-awareness, and improve connection in your relationships.
-
What is Equine Therapy and how does it work?Equine therapy is a form of therapy where you work alongside horses to explore and process your emotions. Horses are incredibly intuitive animals that can mirror our emotions, helping us become more aware of how we’re feeling and how we relate to others. This type of therapy can be especially beneficial for those looking to deepen their self-awareness, improve emotional regulation, or strengthen relationships. During our sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with the horses in a calm, supportive environment, where I’ll guide you through exercises designed to foster emotional growth and healing.
-
What is the difference between individual therapy and an intensive?Individual therapy typically involves regular weekly or bi-weekly sessions, focusing on long-term healing and growth. An intensive, on the other hand, is an immersive session that spans a few hours or even an entire day. Intensives are perfect if you’re looking for more focused work in a short amount of time. It’s a great option for addressing deep issues or for those who want to make significant progress more quickly.
